WD My Passport Air 500 GB Review : It's Time To Throw Away My Old USBs and Portable Drives

Written By Wazzup Pilipinas on Lunes, Hulyo 22, 2013 | 1:42 AM

Well, I definitely need more hard drive space. That would always be a requirement every after few months since I deal with lots of photos that I take during events - and product reviews would be one of them busy activities that will add more files on my USB storage drives.

I really do not want to fill my MacBook  hard drive with all my files. It's so difficult to organize with the very limited space taht I most likely will just reserve for my Photo and Video Editing applications. Most of the time I would like to carry the photos and videos around in several USB drives to show them to my clients.

However, dangling with me several USB drives just won't do any more. I need more storage space but I want a durable storage space at the same time. I'm even willing to pay more just to keep my data safe, and I prefer a storage space that will let me access my data fast - with ease and convenience. Having no worries means a lot especially when your files mean more expensive than the gadget itself.

Luckily, I stumbled upon the WD My Passport Air.

WD XE hard drives offer best-in-class sequential performance and provide a compelling upgrade for datacenters migrating away from legacy drives nearing end-of-life.

“Delivering up to 50 percent higher capacity, similar or better maximum sequential performance, higher reliability and up to 67 percent lower power consumption versus 3.5-inch,15,000 RPM drives, the new WD XE drives are the answer for data center server and storage solutions needing a transition strategy,” said Rich Rutledge, senior vice president of WD’s datacenters business unit. “IT managers now have a worry-free migration path to the latest enterprise performance drives from WD, while preserving their chassis and solution investments.”
