Technostorm – an on-ground exposition featuring cutting-edge products and services from leading global and local brands. This includes Microsoft, Smart Telecom, Nokia, HP, Epson, Sony, Wi Tribe, PLDT, Sharp, Sun Cellular, LG, Samsung, Lazada, Globe and Phillips.

Hosted by Yahoo!, the expo runs from November 26 to December 2, 2012, and accessible to anyone who is a technology enthusiast. Filipinos can now visit the Technostorm expo to experience the products, watch demos, attend the tech talks and hear from the experts before contemplating on making a purchase.

Learn To Launch Competition Preview

Formerly known as Andersen Consulting, Accenture just recently held a warm-up hackathon at their Cybergate Tower office called learn to Launch. Below are some preview pictures of what transpired during the event. I will update this posts once they release the official press release.

Starmobile Dealers Convention and Star Awards

It's been a very exciting first year for Starmobile, and they have their dear partners, and you, to thank for their success!

A 2012 convention to culminate the pretty awesome year they've had was held last Tuesday, November 27, at Sofitel Philippine Plaza, at 6PM. The invitees were their partner resellers, owners, and friends, and they're anticipating about 200 people to attend. Many also got a preview of yet another Android smartphone and tablet coming up this December.

Asus Launches the All-in-One PC and Router with iCloud Technology

 

Asus Philippines officially launched to the media the perfect productivity and home entertainment package, their All-in-One PC with the introduction of the Asus ET2300 model. The At the same event, they also displayed the Asus RT-AC66U Router with iCloud technology. The launch was held at the Cue Modern Barbecue Restaurant located at the Bonifacio High Street Central in Taguig city.

Wildcard Wins First ASI Technovation Challenge

It was a good fight among the five schools that entered the finals of the Advance Solutions Inc. (ASI) Technovation Challenge, and a wildcard finalist brought home the grand prize. Informatics Eastwood Icons headed by Frederick Lee with members Romeo Roque, Joboy Hiceta, Nikko Espiritu and Isaac Pabuayon led all other schools and garnered the admiration and approval of a demanding panel of judges.

Winning cash and IT Products, the team jumped for joy when the Champion spot was left for them to fill.

Global Startup Battle 2012 Voting Begins

From November 9th through the 19th, several teams from all over the world competed in more than 130 Startup Weekends. A winner from each was crowned and uploaded their videos, and now hope to get your votes. In the Philippines, there was the Startup Weekend in Davao and Cebu, and out of the many teams that joined, “My Startup Academy” emerged as the top winner.

Epson’s GPS Running Monitor Meets Athletes’ Needs

 

Launched this year in Japan as the "WristableGPS*", Epson's newly developed GPS running monitor is an accumulation of the company's technologies and expertise. By simply strapping it to their wrists, runners can accurately measure and record their speed and the distances they have run. This new product combines high GPS accuracy with a light, compact design and long-battery life.

Learn to Launch WarmUp Event on November 23

Accenture Manila Delivery Center is holding a warmup event in support of the DevCon Code Challenge Cup (C-Cup) [http://e.devcon.ph/c-cup] on Nov 30.  Titled "LEARN to LAUNCH", the event aims to allow the participants to deploy a social media app in 4 hours using the Eden PHP Library  (http://eden.openovate.com/) developed by Openovate Labs.

Easy to learn and Speedy to deploy will be the motto of the attendees after getting their hands dirty with Eden.  Rapid prototyping will never be the same again.

Winners of the Bigas (Big Ass) Hackathon

Congratulations to the PhilRobotics A Team with their App named Envilog for winning the Most Innovative App award. The team is composed of Franklin Binos II, Richard Myrick Arelaga, Johnaray Dimaunahan, and Wayne Dell Manuel.

Envilog is a stand-alone temperature and humidity sensor with real-time GSM-based data sending and offline data collection and web-based visualization.

SMART DevNet and DevCon present Eden Hackathon Benilde

Calling all developers! You can now register for the Eden Hackathon Benilde here !

Eden Hackathon Benilde takes place on November 16 at the De La Salle-Collage of St. Benilde. This is a one-day hackathon presented by SMART DevNet (SMART Developer Network), SMART Communications Inc.’s developer community for its technology platform, DevCon (Developer Connect) and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in cooperation with its Information Systems Department, Project Management (PRJ-MGT) Section TO0B and the Association of Information Management (AIM).

Eden Hackathon Benilde focuses on the Eden PHP library created by OpenOvate ( http://eden.openovate.com ) which allows developers to do rapid prototyping in PHP for Internet Platforms and APIs for popular services like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Google Drive, Google+, PayPal and Amazon. We’re inviting PHP developers to experience the power of the Eden PHP Library and show off the what they can do!
